Because we love our members…and those who are not yet members, but who we hope will become members…camwithhim is doing a promotion for valentines day.  There is  currently a poll for camguy of the year 2009 in forums, and the winner will be announced the night of valentines day.  That night will also feature free chats for everyone, instead of the usual member chats,  featuring camguy of the year 2008 Brian and last years awesome new camguy Vicktor!  That night will also offer discounted pcs from some of the camguys, including Brian.  In addition, for members there will be valentine content coming to the site over the next few weeks.  So join us and heat up the winter days with some holiday heat!

Another year has passed and Steve has decided it time to honour the camguy of the year, 2008. Of course, he doesnt know who that fellow is, so he needs your help. Go to the camwithhim forums and give your input in the poll posted for the contest. (And its a great time to check out forums if you havent before! Go! Do it now!) You are welcome to choose three models and from the top three the ultimate camguy 2008 will be picked. The contest features the guys who were active most of last year…or joined the site later in the year, but were very active. When voting, you should consider how fun and memorable a fellas chats were, if he was active in the forum and blog, and if he provided content for members to enjoy. Plus, its a good time to get feedback on the guys…if you are a new member, you can learn about past models, old members can see how the new men rate, and if you’ve never been a member…now you will see who you should check out first, when you join!     It’s one of those rare chill wintery evenings, where there’s lightening crashing the night.  You feel claustrophobic and have to escape, so you jump in the car and head out…that’s exactly when you want to get lost on the highway cruising with Tommy.  He’s a rock and roll sex god, who’s steaminess sets off that thunder when it meets the icy winter sky.  Just as his fingers play the guitar, his voice caresses your spine and music is made.

“I play rock music. There is so much ground covered by Rock music. So many different sounding bands are called rock music and they sound nothing like each other. It gives me a lot of freedom. The only rule is it’s gotta be a good song.”

When he was younger he was all into the guitar madmen like Steve Vai and Yngwie Malmsteen, now he listens to everything, but the guys who do it right are the Bruce Springsteens and U2s of the world.  “Now I know that most people aren’t musicians. They don’t want to hear songs cadence between the root note and it’s intervals, they want to hear something that makes them feel something which can’t be explained.”  His passion for music shows by that leading comment, while cementing his understanding of the casual listeners interest in the same.  He loves music, its his passion, yet he knows to many its just a pleasure…similar feeling, different magnitude.

 He is trying to learn piano and drums, but says he is ”REALLY” bad at them.   ”For vocals, I have to be actually singing something. It starts with a melody and the inflection you put on phrases and notes changes the mood you convey. A lot of Rock bands who just have one vocal style can’t express much and are quite limited because of the delivery they have chosen.  My guitar is nearly the opposite! My guitar has really bad neurotic problems, ha! It is paranoid and jumpy and lots of times tries to be much more macho than it really is.”  He smiles and your heart melts, he’s not only talented and hot, but fun and has that disarming charm.

He sings lead and plays the only guitar in the band. Plus, he writes all the music and all the lyrics. Still, he’s wishing the other guys would write some stuff because it takes him a long time to fill up an album of songs, he only want to record the stuff that’s good.  His standards are high and he demands much of himself.

Tommy would love to make money with my band, but is willing to see what happens. Everyone has a different reason for trying to get into the business. “I just wish each band was a bit more unique and not so obviously trying to sound like another band. It makes me think they are compromising their real sound to get a record deal quickly.”  Its important to remain true to himself.  And the music.

Aside from the music, what about performing?  “Oh, it is amazing! For a song, you have about 4 minutes to convey to a group of strangers all the feeling that the song means to you. All the hours you put into the music and lyrics you have to convey in the span of three minutes. When you leave the stage you don’t exist, so you better leave an impression!”  He exists, if he thinks eyes and hearts arent following him offstage, then he’s crazy.

And how does camming compare to performing? ”Camming is completely different. Stage performing is like trying to show a painting you’ve done to a group of busy people at a party. But camming is more like letting you friend look under the hood of your car.. haha. It’s like letting people see what I’ve been working on, and it helps that I’m sure they want to see it!  I think there is a correlation though because of how much image suddenly matters in music. I usually play shows without a shirt (except in winter!) for the people who just want the image. I joke that the club we play at didn’t have enough to hire a good band and a male stripper, so they just compromised and hired Rebel Angel!”  Oh Tommy, dont ever wear that shirt, winter or summer, you are too hot to be contained.

Finally, he related this fun story, during the interview.  “Yea, we had this day we were gonna record a song called “Last to Know” at a studio owned by a friend of the drummer. We hadn’t heard from the drummer, so I didn’t think it was gonna happen so I was out getting really trashed the night before with the bassist. A few hours after we went to sleep the drummer was knocking at the door asking if we were ready (this was 10 AM or so). I was completely gone though, I limped to the bathroom and tried to brush my teeth and get ready because we were to be at the studio at 11. I just looked myself in the mirror and started puking! We went to the studio and I was trying to recover and we ended up recording the whole song that day, haha! The vocals could be better, but at least I don’t sound as sick as I was!”

If you attend chats with any regularity, you have probably seen the fun loving aussie Jerome drop by chat…and maybe you’ve wondered where he found the time?  Now you can find out, as Jerome shared an inside look at a typical day.

So what are you like waking up?  cranky?  wide awake?  right up or snooze buttoner?

Definitely whackin that snooze button, sometimes even more than once or twice. I loveee sleeping. My dreams are always good fun. One of my latest “weird” dreams involved one of my mates being stuck inside of a coke vending machine. She’s extremely tiny so that’s where the connection obviously comes in.

When it comes to my mood, i’m a bit grumpy when i wake up. I don’t like feeling all dirty and unshowered, so i hop right quick in there and get ready for my day. It usually takes me a few hours and a few cups of coffee before i start being myself. Doesn’t everyone though?!

morning rituals?

Right when i wake up, i have my protein shake that’s sitting beside me. I down that asap, then go off to make my protein pancakes. Can’t beat em for a quick breakfast! I’ve had them every morning for the last year or so. You’ll have to message me if you want the recipe I also can make a pretty mean homemade healthy pizza!

then what do you do most mornings?

I’m a personal trainer, so i have most of my clients earrrly in the mornings, as in 5am onwards. I don’t know how i manage to do it quite honestly. I feel sorry for my early bird clients in that respect I’m half asleep usually, but i always make sure the work gets done regardless. I pride myself on a strong work ethic and being consistent and reliable. I always believe in pushing through things even when it gets hard, because the result and reward is well worth it in the end.

what about afternoons and evenings?

In the afternoon i usually hit the gym and focus on myself for a few hours. That’s the one thing i do love about my job, i get to choose when i work and where. I’m also seen here camming on CWH come the afternoon (your evenings, considering the time difference here in Australia) or posting in the forums with our sexy members.

I tend to do a lot of my paperwork in the evenings, aswell as pop heads on Gears of War 2 on the Xbox. There’s nothing i enjoy more than relaxing at home with good food and good company whilst our speakers annoy our neighbours

On the weekends i’m usually found at various clubs in the city, eating at restaurants, or at the game. It’s cricket season over here at the moment. We used to go to a lot of footy (rugby league) over the past few months, but the comp has recently ended.

gym routine?  or something you do everyday?

I don’t workout every day. Usually 4-5 times per week. Because i train rather heavy (in my opinion ), i need a lot of rest between workouts. I smash myself in the gym for around 90mins each workout, then let my nutrition and rest take care of everything else.

I try to get to the beach every day during summer with my outdoor clients, but right now it’s extremely cold. We’ve been robbed of our summer so far unfortunately. Let’s hope it gets better. I actually have to work to get them to sweat in the cold weather In summer, i can always just use the heat to my advantage in terms of making them all sweaty and hot and tired.

show ya cant miss or something?

I’m the biggest fan of Dexter! Love it love it love it love it love it! I’m missing the first series though. I did however see the ending. I do have the complete series 2 & 3. Who’s gonna buy the first series for me?? Just kidding.

Dexter is such an intriguing character, and i actually can relate to him. His mindset a lot of the time. I haven’t killed anybody no, but i do share similar traits to him. And who doesn’t love Masuka? He’s a downright pimp!

I also make sure to watch WWE Raw & TNA Impact each week. I’m a hugeee wrestling nut. Have been since i was 13. I’m actually a tape trader on the side as well as a trainer and cam dude and sales assistant. I’m bad… i burn DVDs and send them around the world to those who don’t have access to certain shows

what are your evenings  like?  night owl?  sleep habits?

I stay up pretty late, which is stupid when i think about it. I only get about 4-5 hours sleep. I make up for it on the weekends I usually go to sleep with a good movie playing on my TV in my room. Depends if i have friends over or not too. If i do, it’s Naked Twister baby!! That, or poker.

If i’m doin pchats, i love stayin up and entertaining all of you people Talking to you guys & girls keeps me more than occupied.

So, there’s a look, not only of a typical day, but most days with Jerome, so come see him in his member chats, catching him popping in to say hi during others chats, or even get a lil private time in a pc with him.  Thanks Jerome!

Now that we’ve explored the definition of bodybuilding, perhaps its time to explore the impetus for that journey.  While its true that many bodybuilders enjoy the look of sculpting their physique, thats not the only reason many pursue the goal.  Varied are the grounds for the quest.

Definitely the guys do love the way they look, and they relish the attention they get from their admirers.  As Derek points out, “And yes I get more attention from the ladies.”  while Ray commented, “Last year summer vacations I did my first bodybuilding competition and I liked it a lot.”  So, obviously being able to showcase their hard work and having the effort appreciated helps contribute to their enjoyment of lifestyle.  But, there is more to it than just admiration from others. 

Ray shared that he has always been very athletic and enjoyed sports, particularly basketball.  However, in the course of that enjoyment, he also had numerous injuries, and often played injured.  Though intense, the more controlled environment of the gym is something that appealed to him.  Not to imply that the sport is injury free, but perhaps the variables are easier to assure.  One of his goals is to live healthier and avoid injuries.

Healthier is something Christian knows all about.  The history that led to his love of bodybuilding is totally unexpected, but very eye opening.  Christian actually suffered from anorexia.  At one point Christian actually only weighed 120 pounds.  He tended to avoid people, as often they wanted to get food, as a part of social activity.  However, eventually he met people who knew about nutrition and enjoyed the gym.  Thats where he met his best friend Jamie, and started eating and living healthier.  “ Before i knew it i was up over 165.  I knew then that i wanted to compete but still had a long way to go.”

“I got involved in the sport after my senior year of high school football. I found myself really empty once football was over. My world revolved around it. The gym was the only other physical thing I REALLY enjoyed. The more I trained the more I realized that I actaully enjoyed the pain of a workout and that I could take my training to another level. I looked for every little thing that could possibly help my training. While researching I was constantly on bodybuilding forums just soaking up the information. Once I put all that I learned to use I started to really see my physique change. I LOVED that change. I was hooked from that point on.” is Derek’s personal chronicle.

Regardless of the path that led to the road they all share now, its certain they all love the course.  And even if you arent traveling the same route that they are, they still appreciate all the fans and members, drop them a post or come see them in chat, they love to talk about the pursuit, or other topics that might interest you or them.

Sureeeeeeeeeeeeee, we’ve all heard the urban legend, hot guy on the beach with buddies, having fun and “bam”, he’s discovered.  Or some variation of, but it never happens of course.  Well, maybe not to you or me, but if you are Kevin….

So one summer day, Kevin heads out to have some fun with pals.  He is 22 and just out having a good time.  Now, on the same beach some people from Tommy Hilfiger are having a photo shoot.  Of course they notice the guys, but out of the batch it was Kevin who really caught their eye.  They snag him and, low and behold, he is modelling right there on the beach.  Information is exchanged, but Kevin’s real interest is in the girls who have gathered to watch.  You know he scored that night, lol. 

Kevin loved the attention from the fans he gathered that day, but didnt pursue Hilfiger or the modeling.  His friends though, had fun pretending to call him and be Hilfiger, but hes a good sport and let his buds have their fun.  Since then he’s had the occasional shoot, but still has never quested after that profession. ”The only way i would persue modeling is if a big time agent just happened to come across my pictures and conviced me to do it….i don’t have the disire or motivation to persue it as a career….”

So, urban legends can happen.  Lucky for us, Kevin just wasnt interested and much prefers camming and interacting with members than modeling.  As he says, “  why go do that when i can be on cam?  haha.”  Thanks for choosing us Kevin, and man are we lucky, cause you certainly are picture perfect!

Every time he has a chat, you are blown away by his smoldering sexy appeal.  With a smoking hot body, enticing personality, and individual style, Sebastian has enchanted legions of fans.  And, while members get glimpses of the man behind the camguy, mostly they are so captivated by his performance, they have yet to learn in depth about the life of Sebastian.  Graciously, he has agreed to a series of interviews to allow members an inside view to his life.

You are probably aware that Sebastian was a gymnast, but his love of athletics actually started with another sport.  He was a member of a traveling soccer team for a number of years before he ever got involved with gymnastics.  Although a fan of playing forward, he usually appeared in the position of goalie.  However, he decided to leave the soccer field and pursue his interest in gymnastics.  Though he didnt say so, I think, even at that young age Sebastian felt challenged and was eager to meet and conquer any obstacles in his path.  Gymnastics provided its share of obstacles, difficulities, experiences, and rewards, helping to shape the man he is now.  It also led to his introduction to Cirque Du Soleil.  Cirque Du Soleil while intriguing was ultimately, not the type of performance that appealed to Sebastian.  As if he wasnt busy enough, our guy has also been involved with various forms of martial arts.
 
The cam chat is the perfect arena to showcase the incredible physique that his active life has sculpted, yet there is more.  Members have certainly got a glimpse in chat and forums that Sebastian is a very intelligent guy.  True, he devoted much time to his phyiscal life, but he also made time for his intellectual side too.  He graduated with a 4.6 gpa and had numerous scholastic achievements.  Computers, german, film, are all areas that have provoked his interest.  His occupation with computers comes from his dad and is something they share in common.  While his involvement with film comes from his mom.  She is the artist in the family.  Realizing how lucky he is to have such a well rounded and supportive family, Sebastian is grateful and appreciative.  He is close to not only his immediate family, but with his huge extended family around the country.  He tries to remain close by maintaining contact and visiting as often as he can.  Perhaps that helped shape his joy of seeing new sites and places.  He has traveled as far as alaska in the U.S, and also to six countries in Europe.

As if the sports, family, and creative endeavors werent enough, Sebastian worked three jobs while a senior in high school.  That hot guy working at the chinese restaurant you loved, it might have been Seb.  Then again, maybe you saw him around town as he covered events for the local entertainment magazine back home.  Oh yeah, he also coached too.  Not content just to excel himself, he enjoys helping others, whether its training others to be their best or offering advice and support as an resident assistant.  Sebastian truly does represent how much a person can do and give.

Whew, Im wore out just typing this up…and am suspecting Sebastian isnt just a mild mannered camguy, but might actually be superman.  I know ive passed awe to being pretty well floored by his impressiveness.  I  cant wait to learn and share more in upcoming blogs.  Hopefully, youll join me for a closer look at the life of Sebastian.  Also, a huge thanks to Sebastian!  We appreciate the time you make for members and the site.

You’ve seen them…you look for them…you thrill at the sight of them, titans dwarfing mortal men.  Camguys, just as mortal men, are a diverse group, bodybuilders are one of those unique groups.  This blog series is devoted to them and their fans.

However, what is bodybuilding…

“It is a constant strive for perfection.” -Christian K

The definition isnt always agreed upon, even among those who follow the practice.  Is it a sport?  A lifestyle?  Maybe just a hobby?  It seems pure pursuers of bodybuilding do believe it is a lifestyle.  It is a way of living.  They eat, breathe, and sleep the pursuit.  But, what is perfection?  Derek eloquently states, “To me bodybuilding is the art of building muscle on your physique, while keeping an aesthetically pleasing look.”   Im sure that is what many fans of bodybuilders find most appealing .

Still, what is it?  One way to define something, is to define what it is not, so what are some myths about bodybuilding?

“Its all about huge muscles and physiques.” Its not. Definitely size and muscles help, but they are not the delineating factors.  Derek and Christian point to guys who do better in competition being smaller, yet more conditioned than bigger bulkier guys.  Derek stresses, that its “the correct balance of size and conditioning” that leads to championships.  He also points out that most shows are drug tested and steroids are not part of the true lifestyle. While Christian adds, many people think bodybuilders are jerks or self-centered because they are so big and that simply isnt true.  He challenges anyone believing that to seek advice from a bodybuilder, guaranteeing they will recieve help.

Both guys are also clear on the point that bodybuilding shouldnt be confused with a healthy lifestyle.  It is about building muscle and displaying that muscle, which sometimes leads to unhealthy practices.  For starters, compare the workouts.  You use more weight and you dont rest between sets, bodybuilders goal is to shock the muscle into growing.  Plus, from a competitive standpoint, there is an offseason, which is definitely not as healthy.  Also, the use of aas and diuretics is not healthy and the extremes some go to trying to achieve 4-5% bodyfat is not salubrious either.

So, at least the sport aspect of bodybuilding is not a healthy pursuit. Perhaps, those who truly follow a lifestyle dedicated to building size, rather than seeking to win championships, are living to be more fit and muscled.  And again, its about a balance, a shorter, but defined man definitely portrays the sport better than a hulking overly muscled guy. So, it would appear to be impossible to give a true definition to the term bodybuilding.  Most practioners supply their own beliefs and strive to live up to those terms, while admirers look for what they find visually appealing.

Just thought I’d throw out a post for people who are currently not members of camwithhim.  If you have never been a member, or let your membership lapse, you havent seen some of the changes that have arrived.  Though, Steve continues to work to improve the site, its not always obvious just from a quick glance, so let me tell you about whats been going on…

First, oh yeah its guys…guys with cams, just a name change you might think.  But, its much more.  The main focus remains the hot guys you can see of course, but the roster continues to grow and expand.  Several new guys have not only shown up on the private chat pages, but also made their way to the site chats.  No longer a newb, but one of the first of the new camguys is Brice.  With his outstanding smile and welcoming personality he has won over members and has some of the funnest chats on the site.   Tyler has stepped up his presence on the site, thrilling his multitude of fans.  Stallion and James are two of the new big guys impressing members and Johnny and Dustin Tyler are two more guys who have just recently started member chats, but also are burning up the pcs.  Chase is a guy who has been around a bit longer, but is still fresh and fun.  Derek, Carson, Dom, Sebastian have all been with the site for awhile, but still continue to rock the chats and the members.  Plus, there are always old school guys, like Delro, Brian, and Steve himself, when he can find time.  In addition there are guys eagerly anticipating their first time to member chat, like the smokingly hot Stevie and amazing Christian K.  So, let there be no doubts, camwithhim still has the hottest guys around and the rooster is only gonna grow!

Speaking of those guys and their chats, the chats have recently been upgraded.  While not a glaring change, the upgrade benefits members and camguys.  Now, its easier for the guys to do chats, solving some previous technical issues and it seems to be a clearer, faster chat.  Its still a new upgrade so there will be some glitches to work out, but another effort by Steve to benefit the site.  The change was also encated for security reasons, to stop chat theft so some are not getting for free what members pay for.  Originally, planning to make archives viewable onsite only, Steve accomodated members by once again making them downloadable, another example of his customer friendly servie.  Pcs are also getting the upgrade, as the site strives to improve with the times, while maintaining the appeal of the original guyswithcams.

Another example of changing for the better, while staying the same, is photos.  Always a popular feature, photos of the guys are a favorite.  Now there are planned trips and shoots which brings high quality photos to members.  The improved quality and focus is a major appeal, and some have made their way to featured wallpapers for fans.  Not only is Steve photographing the guys, but he is also getting outside photographers too, adding to the diversity of presentation and style.  What a plus for members!

Videos also continue to be featured as well.  The photo shoots bring high quality video from the trips also, woot.  And there are still the old faves, gym video and even personal at home video for members enjoyment.  As I mentioned, the chat archives are once again downloadable and usually available the morning after the chat, no more waiting for fans who missed, or wish to enjoy again.  Upcoming videos feature Christian K in the gym, for fans still anticipating his first member chat, plus more of Tyler at home, and videos from some of the models photo shoots.

Members, not only do the models get the make over treatment, but I believe Steve still has plans to improve member participation and interaction on the site.  Though I’m not sure of the timetable or the exact changes, if the one I anticipate is coming, it should make member involvement a ton more fun.  Plus, I know there are some other new features still being worked on and coming to the site, so its a great time to be a member.  Members look forward to all the changes, though you might not even notice some, and nonmembers should join the site and see what all the excitement is about!  Thanks and see ya in chats and forums!  Heck join me here in the blog and post here too!

Christian K has yet to do a member chat, but he has been burning up the pcs.  A hot and hunky addition to the pc roster hes also planning on joining fans in member chats.  He has yet to post in forums, but hopefully makes his presence felt there also.  Agreeing to an a blog interview, he mostly wrote it himself, here, changed very little, is Christians introduction to members, enjoy…and check him out!   

Christian grew up in a bigger city and was a huge jock.  Excelling at soccer and golf,  he would eventually take golf to a professional level.  He has a bigger family, 3 sisters and a brother with 2 very loving parents.  “I credit them for the person I am today, they are my drive and inspiration in life!”

Currently a student, he also runs a personal training/nutrition business on the side!  In his last semester at school, he is looking forward very much to graduating.  Christian’s training clients have included numerous celebrities and other high end clients in the hollywood area.  “I love what i do, and believe it is why I am able to get my clients such good results!”  As far as free time, which is almost never, our guy enjoys spending it with the people he loves.  Family, friends, his girlfriend, “who is absoultey the most incredible person on earth”, and really anyone that can just relax and have a good time.  Being low key, good company really makes his day. 

Achieving that incredible physique has been a bumpy road, actually overcoming an eating disorder!  Six years ago Christian was annorexic and struggled hard with it.  The journey to where he is now was tough, but so very rewarding.  The knowledge gained, coupled with the drive it has instilled, are two traits that rarely matched.

Christian is currently in an amazing place in life.  “I have the woman of my dreams, and we are making plans for our future.”  What that entails, he’s not quite sure yet..but rest assured it will be nothing short of amazing! 

Traveling is a love, so picking one place that to visit is probably impossible.  At the top of my list are australia, atlantis (bahamas), and vegas AGAIN!!! 

Right now preparing for his first bodybuiliding/fitness model show is top priority.  He have never been on stage, but is hoping that it will lead to some great exposure for himself.  Recently, he shot with  a major fitness magazine (he will let everyone know which one when it comes out) and has more shoots in the coming months, so stay tuned.

“I am firm believer that life is beautiful.  I live everyday to the fullest and really try to always walk away from every situation with a positive outlook.  It makes it so much easier that I have great people in my life, but in all honesty I cant think of a better way to live.”

He does plan on doing member chats at some point (hopefully soon when he figures out his schedule, and moves I think).  Not quite sure what to expect, he would appreciate all input.  He heard about the site from a girl he knows.  “So far it really has been a lot of fun, everyone that has been in my room knows I am super down to earth and I love to have a good time…I aim to please   In the coming weeks i will be adding more photos, both candid and professional!”

“Hopefully everyone likes what they see, and anyone that wants to chat can pm me at anytime!!!”

 Thanks Christian!  Sorry it was delayed in getting here, but I finally got it up and thanks for really writing it yourself.  Can’t wait for your member chat and all you will bring to the site.
