So I was doing some random google searches last night and came across this lovely gem of a video. This is by far the funniest thing I’ve ever seen on youtube. A certain tranny seems to have a crush on one of our cam stud muffins. I couldn’t resist…

Getting to know Sebastian. by FH99

February 12, 2008
FH99

Part 1: Favorites:

Q: What are your favorite things to watch on TV?

A: I’m more of a movie guy than a TV guy. Since i’m a cinema major I tend to be hyper critical and technical when it comes to movies. I have so many favorite movies that I wouldn’t know where to begin to list my favs. But i’m a fan of Heroes, Scrubs, and My Name is Earl on TV. But like i said, i don’t watch a whole lot of television.

Q: What is your favorite food?

Favorite food is steak. I tend to eat healthy, but i will never turn down a good steak

Q: What is your favorite color?

A: Favorite color is either Red, Yellow, or Black

Q: If you could have any car, what kind of car would it be?

A: I was actually looking at buying a new car after a photoshoot, but the photoshoot fell through and now i’m stuck a bit shorter on money than expected. So needless to say, car isn’t happening. But I love the Lotus Elise/Exige. I also like corvettes, only american car i like. The cheaper cars I like are Subaru WRX Sti, Infinity G37, Nissan Z, etc.

Q: If somebody gave you $1 million, what would you do with it?

A: If someone gave me a million… hmm. I’d pay for the rest of school first. SCHOOL IS EXPENSIVE!!! I believe I have at least 36k left to pay for it. Then I’d give a bit to my parents to help pay for some things. Then i’d buy a car and put the rest of it in savings and not touch it unless absolutely necessary.

Q: What do you like to do for fun?

A: I play video games for fun. I also like to make short films and stuff. I like to read, I like to watch movies. I love to exercise and personal train, I have a group of 30 guys who like to work out with me at the gym, get’s interesting trying to come up with stuff they can all do haha.

Part 2:  Travel

Q: Where have you gone on vacation?

A:  I’ve vacationed in Alaska, Finland, Sweden, Russia, Estonia, Denmark, Florida, North Carolina, California, etc.

Q: Out of all the places you have vacationed to, which was the best?

A: I can’t say there’s a ‘best’ place I have vacationed, but I really enjoy the beach. I’d be a beach bum if I could afford to be. My grandparents own a beach house and that’s one of my favorite places to go.

Q: If you wanted to live in another country, which one would it be and why?

A: I think I’d probably like to live in Australia or New Zealand because it’s so gorgeous there

Part 3: Film

Q: You’ve mentioned that you’re studying film in college.  What would you like to do after college?

A: . I do study film. I have an uncle who is a director out in LA and I intend on starting by getting some internships out there and eventually moving out in that direction. Ultimately i’d like to be a director or work in post production in either audio or special effects.

Q: Who are your favorite actors and actresses?

A:  I don’t have any favorite actors. But my favorite directors are D.W. Griffith, Mernau, Hitchcock, Orson Welles, Guillermo Del Toro, Terantino, Scorsese, and so on…

Q: What is your favorite movie?

A: Like i said, there’s lots. But to name a few: Pan’s Labyrinth, Letters from Iwo Jima, The Lord of the Rings, Citizen Kane, Disney/animated movies, etc and so on.

Part 4: Sports

Q: I’ve read that you’ve trained in martial arts.  What forms of martial arts have you trained in?

A: I took Tai Chi, TKD, Shaolin Kempo Karate, and Shorin-Ryu Karate

Q: Which form or martial arts is your favorite?

A: I think shorin-ryu was my favorite instructor. But I learned things in each art that I took to other places. I learned all kinds of neat tricks and I have all kinds of stories from MA. Those things i’ve learned have helped me outside of the gym as well

Q: How long have you been involved with gymnastics?

A: I did gymnastics for six years and coached for three and a half. I was a level 10 gymnast, olympic level on the rings. I also did four different martial arts and enjoyed those very much. Other athletic hobbies include soccer and rock climbing.

Q: What is your favorite event in gymnastics?

A: My specialty in gymnastics was the Rings, and that is also my favorite… more than likely because i won every meet i ever competed at on the rings wink Getting to know Sebastian..

Q: What was the biggest event you won in gymnastics?

A: I won rings at every meet i ever competed at, all the way up through states and regionals. I won states all around twice, placed second twice, won all around at regionals once too. Regionals, for all those who don’t know, is a group of 5 states.

Q: Did you play any other sports growning up outside of gymnastics?

A: I played baseball when i was really young. then i moved onto soccer which i still very much enjoy.

Final Question:

Q: What is your favorite thing about being a camguy?

A: My favorite thing about being a cam guy is being able to talk to some interesting people. I get to meet some really neat people and make some cool connections working on here. Some of the people are pretty fun to talk to. Plus, if I’ve had a rough day, I always get support here and that’s always a welcomed bonus

I hope you’ve enjoyed this interview.  Feel free to leave me some feedback.  Let me know how I did, since this is my first interview.

Out of Bounds, Camguys and Sports, Dom by will

February 7, 2008
will

First up was Blake, sharing his sport of surfing with us, followed by Derek’s dissection of bodybuilding with members, now its Dom’s turn to spotlight his favored athletic pastime.  Dom is a champion decathlete.   The decathlon is an athletic event combining track and field events. Performance is judged on a points system in each event, not by the position achieved. The decathlon is contested by male athletes, while female athletes contest the heptathlon.

So you are a decathlete Dom, what is the decathlon?

The decatholon is 10 events: javelin, 110 hurdles ,400m run, long jump, high jump, pole vault, shot put, 100m dash, 1500m run and discus.

What is your favorite and least favored event?

My favorite is the pole vault…I did it  my sophomore year in high school  and went to states my first year.  Competing during the indoor season and outdoor. I placed 4th as a sophomore in state, which led to me being recruited for the college I go to now.

My least favored was the shot put because i’m pretty short compared to the other decathletes. I’m more of a finesse and speed athlete than strength guy. I disliked it because I was at a disadvantage due to size.

Then you’ve done really well in the sport, can you expand on that?

In high school I was All_State All Region All District for 3 years in indoor/outdoor track for pole vaulting.  My best finish was 3rd in state.  I was recruited and received scholarship money for college.

So, im guessing the decathlon is more of a cardio vascular sport than a strength one…is that right?

The decathlon mixes strength and cardiovascular strength.  “Its the ultimate sport because you have to have everything from strenth, speed, flexibility, and of course mental power.”  You have to be well rounded, basically a natural athlete.

Tell us about your training.

Training is five times a week in the off season. I take a gymnastics class for pole vaulting. For the other events, there are days when we practice for about an 45 mins, plus run and lift.  During the in season we try not to do too much strenous stuff, light workouts and short practices are best.

I know its a competition, you against everyone else, but there are teams right…so its both and individual and team sport?

Its an individual event, as well as a team scoring event.   The more decathletes that a school has that finish high, then the more points that school gets.  So, you need to score points for your team, as well as for yourself.

 Anything else to add?

My idols are roman sebrle (decathlete) and serge bubka (pole vaulter).   They are inspirational and competitors I admire.

DOM Out of Bounds, Camguys and Sports, Dom

Thanks Dom!  It sounds like the decathlon really does encompass the true meaning of “athlete” and its cool that you excel in the sport.  Plus, thanks for taking the time and sharing with me and the members, always appreciated.  And kudos to Ang, for the hand with the pic!

What’s up everyone? I am still trying to cope with the Patriots loss in the Superbowl. I am so glad i didn’t have to work the next day…i wouldn’t have been able too. Okay enough about that shit (stay tuned for the vid i owe steve for losing a bet on the big game). Will it be embarrassing? Hell ya. Will it be funny? For sure.

Out of Bounds, Camguys and Sports, Derek by will

February 3, 2008
will

Hey everyone, in a move to give fans more insight into the camguys and their lives, Im gonna do a series of articles looking at the fellas and their sporting lives. Or so I hoped. Blake graciously agreed to be interviewed and his was the first in the series, and talked about surfing. Then the series stalled, but here is another installment as Derek was kind enough to answer some questions about his sport of body building. Woot

derek posing Out of Bounds, Camguys and Sports, Derek

Tell us a little about the sport of bodybuilding.

There are many different federations. The largest being the NPC(National Physique Committee), which I choose to compete in. In the NPC they judge by weight classes. Currently I am a light-heavyweight, but soon hope to break into the heavyweight division. They also have classes for the teens (19 and under), the older guys (masters), and a novice class for the guys newer to the game.

And you have competed correct?

I have done two competetions so far in my career. Both being my state championships. Two summers ago, I won the State Teen Title and this past summer took second in my class.

Tell us about the process of the sport of body building?

There is a difference between just building and getting ready for a show. When you are building you are in the “offseason” or bulking. Now is the time bodybuilders gain weight and arent as lean. You give your body a plethora of nutrients in order to grow and with that comes a little bit of fat. Then, when it comes time to get ready for a show, you begin to cut. This is where diet becomes perfect and you know exactly what is going into your body. Every single calorie. This results in getting shredded and looking super lean.

What are the requirements for posing? Routines are different right…you make your own, but have to do certain poses? How do you come up with the routine, music?

When show time comes they judge you on a variety of different poses. They judge you on four, quarter turn poses (front relaxed, side relaxed, rear relaxed, and side relaxed). They also judge you on other poses as well (front double bicep, front lat spread, abdominal thigh, side chest, side tricep, rear double bicep, rear lat spread, and most muscular). After pre-judging is over, every competitor goes through their own routine. You get to pick your own music and how you want to pose to it. I personally have never had a problem making a routine. I hear a song and I kind of just know I can pose to it.

And why that silly spray? Lol.

Why the silly spray? Haha I also ask myself this question every time i have to put it on. Unfortunately you can be as dark as your skin allows and you will still look very washed out on stage under the bright lights. The sprays and oils help to make your physique look perfect on stage.

Whats it like being on stage posing for a crowd?

What a rush! On stage with your own music and everyone has all eyes on you. I just go at it! The music starts and you know your routine so well that its really easy.

Sounds like camming kind of…

Exactly, all eyes on me! icon cool Out of Bounds, Camguys and Sports, Derek
Goals with bodybuilding? What would you like to do?

I want to just continue to grow grow grow. Im def not satisfied being my size. I also wanna compete in the collegiate nationals before I graduate school.

Thanks Derek! And I note, you look incredible to me. icon razz Out of Bounds, Camguys and Sports, Derek I’d give you first place.

My introduction. by FH99

February 2, 2008
FH99

Hello everybody,

Since I’m hopefully going to be able to allow everybody to get to know some of the camguys better, I decided that I should introduce myself.  So, here we go.

I’m a life-long resident of Missouri.  I’ve always been passionate about watching sports.  Auto Racing (Nascar), baseball, football and hockey are my favorites.  I’ve never been much of an athlete myself though.

One of my other hobbies is sports trading card collecting.  I collect baseball, football and hockey cards.  I’ve been doing that for about 10 years.  I have quite a few cards in my collection.  I look at collecting cards as an investment.  I like seeing how the value of a card goes up and down.

The story of me and this site is a unique story.  I first heard about this site on a message board when guyswithcams.com orginally launched.  I was a lurker on the forums back when the site first started with only a handful of camguys.  I didn’t post very much for a while, mainly out of shyness.  I started to come out of my shell a little more when the forums moved away from ezboard and to something similar to what they are now.

Not long afterwards, I ended up having to take a hiatus, which is something I regret having to do.  I returned to the site last year and quickly got back into the swing of things on the forums.  I’ve gotten to know a lot of great people on there.  Since I became a member of this site just over a month ago, I’ve gotten a chance to see what is on the other side of that link to the members section.  There is a lot to look at there.

Well, I hope I didn’t bore you too much with the details about myself.  Hopefully, I’ll be able to post something about one of the camguys soon.  If anybody has any questions you would like for me to ask a camguy, feel free to send me a PM in the forums.  If I feel the question is appropiate, I’ll ask it.
